Rules

These general rules (hereinafter - "Rules") settle the terms and conditions of contest conduct and are the unalienable part of contest conduct agreement.

  1. General.
    1. The following rules settle the terms and conditions of conduct for the ICONIC Digital Biennale contest (hereinafter - "Contest")
    2. The contest is organized by Eberhard Lindfordt (hereinafter - "Organizer").
    3. Information support - iconic.show (hereinafter - "contest site").
    4. The contest location is not restricted
    5. Participants are individuals who are at least 18 years old (hereinafter - "participants") and have uploaded their artwork (in PDF format) to the contest site (hereinafter - "Artwork").
    6. The contest goals:
      • Increasing public’s interest to the blockchain technology and digital design;
      • Allowing the participants to develop their creativity;
      • Driving the industry towards stimulating challenging ideas.
    7. The System of the contest used by the Organizer - a simple database, including all the information placed by the Organizer at the Contest Site and the registration forms.
    8. The Patron of Art - an individual, who is viewing/buying participants’ Artworks.
  2. The Contest milestones.
    1. The Contest consists of 3 (three) milestones.
    2. The Contest milestones have the following names:
      • Accepting of artworks;
      • The Art Market;
      • Announcement of the results.
      • Continuation of the Art Market for the artworks those were unsold.
  3. The Contest period.
    1. The Contest will take place from December 1st, 2017 to February 7th, 2018 UTC+3
    2. The Contest timeline:
      • Accepting of artworks from December 1st, 2017 to February 1st, 2018;
      • The Art Market - from February 2nd, 2018
      • Announcement of the results - February 7th, 2018
  4. The terms and conditions of joining the contest
    1. In order to join the Contest it is necessary to go through the procedure of registration in the system of contest Organizer at iconic.show/apply, via uploading Participant’s Artwork and filling the registration form. By registering the Participant states that they have read the terms and conditions and are willing to comply with the contest rules and regulations. The registration form must contain only true information about the participant.
    2. The individuals who did not complete the registration process can not participate in the Contest.
    3. The Participant must own the rights for the Artwork they upload to the Contest site. The artwork must not be sold or shared with any third party.
    4. The Organizer is allowed to use the Participants’ Artworks on their social media in order to promote the Contest and the Art Market as well as the Artworks to potential Patrons of art.
    5. The Organizer reserves the right to remove or refuse to display any Artwork on our website, in whole or part, if we believe that such Artwork may violate these Rules, the law or any third-party rights, or for any other reason, without notice or liability, at any time at our sole discretion.
  5. The Contest’s Subject.
    1. The Participant’s entry must relate to the "The Beauty of pure Artificial intelligence" topic, be in form of a picture and in PDF format.
    2. All of the entries are to be examined by the contest jury (hereinafter - "Curators").
  6. The evaluation order and criteria. The methods of determining the winner.
    1. The Winners of the Sponsor’s Prize will be determined by the Contest Curators. You can find the Curators’ names at our website. The results of the vote are based on the following system: 1) Each curator will choose 10 Artworks and nominate them for the win 2) The Artwork chosen to be in top 10 the biggest number of Curators wins the main prize - 1 BTC 3) The Artworks chosen to be in top 10 by the second and third biggest numbers of Curators win the second (0.5 BTC) and the third (0.3 BTC) prizes.
  7. The Contest supervision and recording of the results.
    1. The Contest is supervised by the Organizer, the results will be recorded by the Organizer and published at iconic.show
  8. The Prize Fund of the Contest.
    1. The Prize Fund of the contest will consist of the funds transferred by the Sponsor to the Organizer’s Bitcoin wallet (1 BTC for the Winner, 0.5 BTC for the 2nd place, 0.3 BTC for the 3rd place).
  9. The order of notifying the Participants about the results of the Contest.
    1. The Participants will be notified via email, the Contest results will also be displayed on the Contest website.
  10. Intellectual Property Rights
    1. After the results are announced, every Participant transfers the co-ownership of intellectual property rights to the Patron of Art who has bought the Participant’s Artwork and transferred the amount of BTC assigned to the Artwork to the Bitcoin wallet address provided for this Artwork obtains the licence for both personal and commercial use of the Artwork.
    2. After the results are announced, every Participant transfers the ownership of intellectual property to the Patron of Art who has bought the Participant’s Artwork and transferred the amount of BTC assigned to the Artwork to the Bitcoin wallet address provided for this Artwork.
    3. If the Participant’s Artwork wasn’t sold during the time of the Contest they can choose to keep it in the ICONIC Art Market until it is sold or withdraw it.
    4. To withdraw their Artwork the Participant has to notify the Organizer about their intention to withdraw via email.
    5. The Contest Organizers do not compete for the ownership of the intellectual property of the participants.
  11. The Art Market
    1. The Art Market starts at February 2nd, 2018.
    2. In order to obtain the licence for both personal and commercial use of any Artwork the Patrons of Art should transfer the amount of BTC assigned to the Artwork by the Curators to the Bitcoin Wallet of Organizer, indicating a Participant’s Artwork number.
    3. Once a Patron of Art has purchased the co-ownership of intellectual property rights for an Artwork they have the right to use it for both personal and commercial purposes.
    4. The distribution of funds received for the Artwork: the Artists receives 75% of the price, the Organizer receives 22%, and the Curator that assigned the price for the Artwork receives 3% of the price.
    5. Before the Art Market starts the Patrons of Art would be able to bookmark any artwork.
  12. Alterations of the Contest terms
    1. The Organizer reserves the right to alter the Contest documentation, Contest’s Terms and Conditions. The Organizer also has the right to cancel the Contest, according to the following Terms and Conditions, in this case the Organizer is obliged to notify the Participants via email.
